New Holland Concrete Sustainability

New Holland Concrete is committed to the design and production of products that contribute to sustainable design and reduce life-cycle building costs. In addition, we employ energy reduction and waste recycling efforts throughout our company to reduce the impact we have on our environment. A sampling is provided below.

Recycled-Content Products: To address the needs of architects & designers working on LEED® certified projects, New Holland Concrete has developed our EcoBlox™ line of masonry products. In addition, all future products in the research and development process for block and ready mix products are being rigorously examined for alternative source materials, where it can enhance the product line. Contact us for more information regarding our products that may qualify for LEED Green Building Rating Points

Production Waste & Reuse: New Holland Concrete remains committed to making production waste a reusable, recyclable resource. Rejected block from our production line goes into a holding location, where it is then donated to local contracting firms for reuse in roadbed work, driveways, and other needs where virgin material may have been used in the past.

Chemical Use: New Holland Concrete has eliminated the use of any chemicals containing PFCs — which have been proven to contribute to the depletion of the ozone layer — in our manufacturing process.

Workplace Health & Safety: New Holland Concrete works closely with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), recognizing our efforts to provide safe workplaces for all our employees. In addition, regular safety training seminars are part of our ongoing safety awareness program company-wide.

Our efforts to promote employee wellness include monthly health information newsletters and regular competitions involving employee teams vying to reach select health goals.

Office Recycling & Enegry Consumption: New Holland Concrete currently recycles most paper waste throughout all our campus offices. In addition, we recycle printer and copier toner cartridges. PC workstations are shut down after hours to reduce energy consumption, and traditional CRT monitors have been replaced with energy-efficient LCD monitors.
Design for the Environment: Our ongoing manufacturing approach is to select materials for our product design that provide as minimal impact as possible on our environment.
Community Engagement: New Holland Concrete is committed to being a good neighbor in our local communities. Our company and employees have undertaken many efforts to aid
those communities, and to give back through donations and volunteer work.

Trade Membership: New Holland Concrete is a member of the Green Building Association of Central Pennsylvania, and the Delaware Valley Green Building Council.

These efforts are just the beginning of New Holland Concrete’s long-term commitment to sustainability. It is an ongoing approach that we encourage our partners and fellow producers to consider.
